There, And Back Again

I abandoned this blog again after only two posts. I have a bad habit of doing that, starting online writing projects and then disappearing for a little while, most often because I become overwhelmed with all of the other irons I might have in the fire at any given moment.

Actually, one thing I've been preoccupied with is another campaign that I just finished on November 4th. I worked for a Luzerne County judicial candidate for the Court of Common Pleas, Tina Polachek Gartley (ahem, now Judge-elect Gartley, thank you very much!). The campaign organization was pretty organic and grassroots, I'd define my position as Field Director, but all of us had to pitch in and be able to function as sort of jack-of-all-trades consultants on a variety of matters--media, event planning, outreach to local electeds and Party people, etc. Anyway, I was doing that while at the same time teaching three classes in my interim gig at Luzerne County Community College. Busy, busy!

I'm going to try to start blogging again though more steadily and frequently, mostly because I've been reading a lot about the Obama campaign and doing that is generating a lot of thought on the part myself and my colleagues played as Obama For America field staff in the battlegrounds during the general election. I want to write some about that. I'm also doing more stuff with Young Democrats lately and am on the PA state communications committee now, and they want us to do more blogging.

The Politics and Popularity of President Obama's Prose

Following is an article from the Politico, on how a positive review from our most literary President in recent memory can translate to revenue for publishers and handsome profits for authors, as well as a certain level of literary esteem. Also includes a comparison between President Obama and President Bush's reading habits. Scroll down for my comments...
